Tensions explode at Old Trafford as Sir Alex labels Luis Suarez a ‘disgrace’.

Sir Alex Ferguson has labelled the 25-year-old Uruguayan and Liverpool footballer Luis Suarez a ‘disgrace’ after his Manchester United team edged a 2-1 victory over rivals Liverpool earlier today.

The comments from Sir Alex come from Suarez’s decision to not shake hands with Manchester United player Patrice Evra before the game began. Suarez was then caught striking the ball at the dugouts after he felt referee Phil Dowd had made the wrong decision.

After an earlier encounter between the two sides in a cup match last year, Luis Suarez served an eight-match ban for racists comments towards the United left-back Patrice Evra.

Although Sir Alex Ferguson claims to have had a conversation with Evra, where Evra told his boss he would shake hands with Suarez. Suarez, on the day refused to shake the hand of Evra, which led to a fiery exchange between the players.

In his post-match interview, Sir Alex said; "He's a disgrace to Liverpool Football Club, that certain player should not be allowed to play for Liverpool again. The history that club's got and he does that and in a situation like today could have caused a riot."

Suarez’s actions caused several moments of madness where players from both sides got involved. Patrice Evra confronted the Liverpool player inside the Old Trafford tunnel, which caused a bust up and forced security to call for emergency assistance.

It was then later revealed that Rio Ferdinand and striker Danny Welbeck also refused to shake the hand of the Liverpool striker.

Kenny Dalglish accused the interviewer of being ‘bang out of order’ to suggest that his striker had done anything wrong. Dalglish claims he never saw the actions and then he implicitly blamed the media for exaggerating the situation; "When we had the FA Cup tie, because there was no 24-hour news channel, nothing happened."

Patrice Evra was seen celebrating in front of Suarez once the match that Suarez scored in had finished.

Whether or not any action will be taking against Suarez or Evra will no doubt be revealed in coming days.
